Summary of Laura Mulvey...
A important move in the use of Psychoanalytical theory in media film studies when Laura Mulvey used ideas of Jacques Lacan to argue that in the classical Hollywood narrative the spectator is constructed as male in 1975. In the history of films males have always been the 'hero' or main character, and female characters have always been mainly to be looked at or or to be saved. Mulvey argues a invention of complex males fear revolving around castration anxiety, male charcters were typically active, investigative narrative agents inviting identification while female fugures in film Brigitte Bardot were fertishized as objects of male gaze.

On Tuesday's lesson Me n my blog buddy Zara discussed more ideas that we could raise between both our independent studies...
we discovered two main areas such as stereotypes and feminism...
As we both are analyzing are teenagers... as Zara's independent study is more on young youth in general but my study is more specifically on teenage girls.. so we discussed that we could relate our studies both too stereotypes of teenagers...we also thought that as both are text are showing how females are shown from the past and how they have changed over they years and how they are portrayed in today's society .... the last area we thought we look at was how celebrity are portrayed in our independent studies following the theorists of dyer.. how they need celebrities to gain more audiences and also to make the film more well known...
